Today, we are launching another round of our mock neck and gym shorts — we heard you that you wanted to see these in matching sets — so we are calling these our "cozy set". Perfect for working from home, going to get coffee, walking your pups, working out (I love to where mine when I'm cycling on my peloton or doing morning walks.)
This is also the first time that we are releasing colors that were dyed in collaboration with a low impact dye house in Los Angeles. I made this decision with a lot of intention and here's why:
Our community really wanted to see green sets. Green is a difficult color to achieve with consistent results using natural dye practices. I feel confident making greens on our silk scarves, bandeaus and silk clothing—but plant based cottons I have found more difficult. I didn't feel confident making consistent greens on our sets. To make green with this fabric (which you can imagine gets so heavy in the vats like a wet towel), requires an enormous amount of water from start to finish, dye products and time. I wanted this set to be accessible price wise (and from dying the other mocks and shorts naturally) I realized quickly it does not make sense for our business. I would have had to greatly mark up these sets and I didn't want to do that! I also wanted to make a colorfast product (meaning the color wouldn't fade over time.) I wanted you to be able to get dirty in these and throw them in the wash. With green on this organic french terry, that wasn't going to be possible. Natural dye is not always the best choice! That is what I've found. And I'm grateful for so may cool and progressive companies popping up that are shifting the game around dying garments. I made these colors using natural dye and then had them color matched! They turned out amazing and the colors are so spring and happy! Available online now! Running very true to size!!!
